The Knights of the Soundtable
The Mini Mix Shop is maintained by an elite group of DJs known as The Knights of the Soundtable. The Knights hail from around the globe; bringing your ears musical pleasure.
The position of being a Knight of the Soundtable carries distinction and honor. For to earn a place at the Soundtable as a knight ~ the DJ must show they possess great ability!
The Mixing Court
Hear ye! Hear ye!The first of June in the year of 2012 will begin the search for The Mixing Court. All DJs wishing to take the challenge ~ step forth!
The Million Dollar Mix
A challenge has been issued...A seat has been made available for a noble DJ to join The Knights of the Soundtable. With this position comes a prodigious gift, yet it requires immense talent. If selected, this DJ would join the presence of other world renown DJs seated at the Soundtable.
First, let us discuss what we will be looking for in the way of consideration for the status of a knight. There is no concern for gender, race or any other element. To be a true Knight of the Soundtable; one must posses ability to keep the party, build on the rhythm and deliver musical passion, all while maintaining the groove.
This challenge will be initiated on the first day of the month of June in the year 2012...
This will be a contest among various individuals to form the Mixing Court. The Mixing Court consist of 10 DJs. Each of those 10 DJs will need to complete a series of musical tasks. Those tasks will be graded and measured. The higher a DJs mark, the greater chance they have at becoming a Knight of the Soundtable.
So, what does it take to get into the Mixing Court?
You will have to provide us with a Micro Mix (MX). This is a 3-minute mix in mp3 format showcasing your complete DJ ability. Your mix shall be enjoyable to the listener. Your mix shall contain 7 individual songs. Your mix must be of professional broadcast quality. Your mix must not contain negative, vulgar, obscene, foul or derogatory language. Ahh, and this must all be within 3-minutes.
We have kept it simple. This will allow you some leeway in your creativity. The right 3-minute mp3 mix can get you close, but you are not in the game quite yet. Your mix will be graded and measured against other DJs. From the best entries, we will select the top ten (10). Those 10 DJs will become the Mixing Court. And thus starts the Million Dollar Mix.
A word to the wise...
There are a few known DJs who are gearing up some interesting tasks for the members of the Mixing Court. Those who succeed well in the musical tasks will get a chance to share in the spoils of the Million Dollar Mix.
